ACIDFEST started as a 3-day festival in Iceland back in 2022. It's a travelling psych fest curated by psychedelic visionaries Thee Lucifer Sams from Liverpool, who took this concept around the UK and occasionally the world (besides Iceland, it also had an instalment in Austin, Texas during SXSW 2023).

ACIDFEST BRIGHTON brings an exciting lineup to our fave The Bee's Mouth in Brighton. Thee Lucifer Sams are true visionaries, refusing to put their music on platforms such as Spotify or having social media. Their mix of semi-improvised psychedelic noise draws equally from the abstraction of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Lemmy's Hawkwind and Sonic Youth noise - with no songs just a full-on psychedelic, sonic rollercoaster.

The Dead Zoo are a proudly trans led, corn fed noisy post-punk band from London, who always put on an energetic live set, and are always worth watching.

Madonovan is the best shoegaze artist you've never heard before, and an unique concept - a tribute to itself, covering songs written, but never released, over 30 years ago. A cathartic ode to lost youth, dreams and rock'n'roll itself.

Esa Shields is a truly one-of-a-kind artist, creating melodies and sounds the likes of which never heard before or since. It's like Brian Wilson on Mars, tripping on acid.

EMU is a vey unique, globe-trotting, funky dance dubhop groove-monster party-starters with a punk twist. More often found in Goa or the antipodes than the UK, it's a privilege to witness them live.

ACIDFEST will also feature a killer DJ set by Brighton's finest, Echoes of the City.

Acidfest is more than just a "gig", but a true happening. This is what the Liverpool Psychedelic Society always offers at our events: an unique experience, something that the mainstream is unable to offer, truly grassroots and open to all.

This is not about any "scene", we just create our own culture and everyone is welcome to enjoy... so come and join the society!

ACIDFEST is more than just a mini psych fest, but a truly psychedelic, travelling roadshow featuring visuals and far-out sounds

ACIDFEST HASTINGS brings an exciting lineup to the popular The Piper in Saint Leonards-on-sea.

Eels! Eels! Eels! join us for the first time - and first time in Hastings too. Energetic alt-rock with healthy doses of psych and already played on the radio.

Madonovan is the best shoegaze artist you've never heard before, and an unique concept - a tribute to itself, covering songs written, but never released, over 30 years ago. A cathartic ode to lost youth, dreams and rock'n'roll itself.

It's a travelling psych fest curated by psychedelic visionaries Thee Lucifer Sams from Liverpool, who took this concept around the UK and sometimes the world (besides Iceland, it also had an instalment in Austin, Texas during SXSW 2023).

ACIDFEST LIVERPOOL brings acclaimed Brazilian psych-rockers Bike as headliners of this mini psych fest ALL-DAYER at Artefact on Roscoe St, featuring three bands, five solo acts, poetry and Coffee and Turntables DJs, offering you a diverse mix of far out sounds and entertainment for the whole day.

Bike have toured around the UK and the world with their unique brand of tropical psychedelia, which found influential fans such as Anton Newcombe (they've recorded with Anton and opened for Brian Jonestown Massacre). Always nothings less than brilliant live, BIKE are for sure one of the best psych bands in activity today.

Thee Lucifer Sams are true visionaries, refusing to put their music on platforms such as Spotify or having social media. Their mix of semi-improvised psychedelic noise draws equally from the abstraction of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Lemmy's Hawkwind and Sonic Youth noise - with no songs just a full-on psychedelic rollercoaster of sound.

The Dead Zoo are a proudly trans led, corn fed noisy post-punk band from London, making their live debut in Leeds. Always putting on an energetic live set, they are always worth watching.

Dominoes is a brilliant, solo artist who's equal parts Ivor Cutler and Syd Barrett. Rich in melody, ideas and whimsy, you are sure to enjoy his set.

Nikhil Hathi is a super-talented guitarist, who will amaze you with the percussive sounds of his acoustic guitar.

Ivan Thunders is the guitarist in Thee Lucifer Sams, opening the live music entertainment with his moody, acoustic ballads with psychedelic overtones.

Poet Cath Holland will bring pathos and dark humour with her spoken word set, always moving, captivating and engaging.

During daytime, ACIDFEST will feature live vinyl DJs from 11am until 4pm.

ACIDFEST also features a killer, exclusive psych playlist to keep you in the mood before and after each act, as well as trippy visuals to create an unique atmosphere. It is more than just a "gig", but a true happening. The Dead Zoo support the incredible Black Doldrums at the Camden Assembly Pub with additional support from epic noise rockers Colour Me Blood Red.

Black Doldrum's Kevin Gibbard and Sophie Landers produce a contemporary form of gothic post-punk, with songs that contain hook and lead tribal drums and euphoric guitar textures that frame introspective lyrics. They are known for their intense live performances, creating their own style of dark post-punk driven by vicious drums, distinctive atmospheric guitar and melodic bass.

After the success of their debut album ‘Dead Awake’ on Fuzz Club Records in 2022 and gaining critical acclaim across mainstream media outlets, such as Uncut, Rolling Stone and Sonic Seducer, the band released their follow up second album ‘In Limerence’ in October 2024. Described by Louder Than War as ‘ lush yet glacial soundscapes, ramping up with bursts of energy before dispersing and cascading into an ethereal depth” ‘In Limerence’ is proving to be the album that pushes Black Doldrums further into the depths of their atmospheric post-punk.
